La Voile, or "The Sail," welcomes you to one of Boston's most authentic French restaurants. La Voile has all the casual elegance of a brasserie and the warm hospitality of a bistro. The concept for our restaurant was inspired by a serendipitous turn of events when a sailor docked for the winter in the old port of Cannes. The sailor happened to dock his sailboat across the street from La Voile au Vent ( The Sail in the Wind ) the meeting place of the Cannes' classic sail boat community. Over time, and many glasses of wine, the Sailor befriended the owners of La Voile au Vent, and the plan to move the restaurant to Boston was hatched. Et Voila, La Voile!!!

Delicious! Escargot, Creamy Chestnut soup, Whole Sea Bass, Duck Confit, Winter Vegetable mix..ended with Creme Brulee 2 spoons 😋

Great service...very gracious and made every effort to make our visit pleasant but the steak was thin, tough, and overdone...

Food wasn't horrible but wouldn't go back again. The place have a weird musky smell, reminds me of an old mop. The duck confit was just dry and overcooked and burnt on the sides. The escargot was very bland. The creme brulee custard was granulated.

(This refers to the seafood, vegetarian sides, abd desserts) Unremarkable. A little inconsistent, as well, recently. The quality falls short of what the prices would lead one to expect.

Oui it is a very french restaurant but quite expensive. The service was good, the food was good, the portions were small.

THIS PLACE IS SO ROMANTIC AND A TRUE ORIGINAL. We sat out in the courtyard and it felt like we had been transported out of MAand into some foreign land or island off the coast of Morocco. Wow!

Great Creative food perfectly prepared. But the best part of the experience is the people! Wonderful friendly people committed to giving you best experience you can have! I highly recommend a visit.

We went here for my sons 24th birthday. Service was wonderful, food was wonderful. We had a lovely evening.

First class food and service in a brasserie, meaning a little bit noisy and informal atmosphere--just as it should be. My wife and I shared a roast cod dish and a classic steak-frites, both excellent. She also had the escargot (I can vouch only for the garlic butter as I don't particularly care for the snail itself. Only a small sample of the basics, but they get that right. We don't live in the area so we haven't tried anything else, yet.

If you find yourself in Brookline a trip to La Voile will be one way to spend a meal. The prices won't break your bank but the flavors may cause some disruption, in a good way. If you try to onion soup be sure to ask for it to be extra hot, ours was served a bit cold.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our waiter had excellent wine recommendations. Cozy. Easy enough to find parking near the restaurant.

The restaurant was lovely and the wait staff very attentive. The beef was flavorful and tender and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The onion soup was the best I've had in a while and the bread was warm and crusty. The entire experience was quite lovely and quite French.

Excellent food and friendly/attentive wait staff. Had two large group dinners at this location and they've been great about planning a fixed price menu with food options that our guests have raved about.

This restaurant gives awesome service and yummy food. The best place in the city. The food and drinks came out quickly and the rates are fair. Highly recommended.

Food was scrum-diddly-umptious and Jessie was a great server I'd r8 8/8

Although others have reviewed this establishment quite well, the reality was something else entirely. Loud Europop music blared throughout the meal, the lights dimmed and brightened sporadically over the course of two hours, and the tightly packed tables meant that we were privy to the most intimate medical matters of our neighbors. Although the food was flavorful, the portions left something to be desired. Furthermore, the maître d' came off as exceedingly obsequious both over the phone while making a reservation and in person. Hint hint sir, if you are aiming for something French and chic Nike Airs and suspenders don't cut it. Believe you me, two stars is exceedingly generous.

This place is surely one of the best place in the neighborhood. Always when I come there I am profoundly pleased. They maintain their high standard service and the highest level of dishes they serve. You no doubt will love this place. Highly recommended.

Nice decor and good service. The food is a little pricey but pretty good. I had the scallops which I thought was cooked to great bounce and texture. My wife had the escargot starter and she mentioned it was ok. We had a good time there.

I get to eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I got to say their customer service is always awesome and they keep the place clean consistently. Pricing is reasonable and they serve large portions.

Lovely local french bistro, conveniently located. Had a few of the escargot before taking the picture. Lunch was so filling, couldn’t get to the dessert (next time). Try the prix fixe menu with a friend to get a cross menu sampling.
